Unlike the old-fashioned board books or other apps which use multiple objects of the same color to get at the concept of color, Chuck uses digital magic! Chuck, our beloved bird wizard, uses his magic wand to change the colors of familiar objects. He is a funny little bird who likes to create strange and entertaining new objects: a blue apple, pink milk, or a yellow flamingo! The objects stay the same, only the colors change. Toddlers can change the color of an object by touching Chuck or a color square. * Colors are presented in pairs to make it easier for toddlers to identify contrasts. * Ten basic colors are included and each color appears twice for reinforcement (see list below). * Starting with a few colors makes it easier for kids to learn the colors leading to repetition which they love. * Each of the ten objects are shown in two colors. * There are fun sound effects to keep toddlers entertained. * Touch the objects to hear the names of the colors. Suggestion for using this app Although children will want to play with Chuck on their own, you can participate in the fun by guiding them along. For example: Since the first object is always a "funny color", ask your toddler: “Are apples blue?” Once they learn to say no, ask them to help Chuck change the object to the right color by touching Chuck or the alternate color square. They can be little wizard assistants too! Encourage them to say “Abracadabra!” along with Chuck. Also help them touch the object so Chuck will say what color it is. Colors: red, green, yellow, blue, orange, purple, pink, brown, black and white. Better than Toddler flash cards and toddler teasers and more fun than Wheels on the Bus.
